Project Management The Project Management application is a custom application used to track project costs within Maximo. A project record is created, and the project record number is recorded on each work order that is part of the project. All project costs (po's, receipts, invoices) inherit the project number from the work order(s), and the costs are summarized nightly to the project record. A series of reports displays the costs to the user.
Report of Shipment The Maximo Report of Shipment application is a custom application used to track material that is shipped out of the work place. This includes items returned for repair, exchange, credit, rentals, samples, or on loan.
Condition Monitoring Maximo 5.2 lacks the ability to auto-generate work orders for Condition Monitoring measurements that are above or below the Measure Point Action Limit. This utility fulfills this missing feature.
Integrated Scanning Maxscan is used to automate the linking of scanned documents using the Maximo Attached Documents feature. Maxscan interfaces Maximo to desktop scanners and makes the scanning and linking process seamless and quick. Useful for capturing all paper documention such as packing slips, invoices, and price quotes.
Clause Code Library The Maximo Clause Code Library is a custom Maximo application used for maintaining clause codes and for attaching clause codes to any Maximo long description field. End users maintain clause codes using the Clause Code application and attach clause codes to any long description field via the long description editor.
Label Printer The Maximo Label Printer is a custom Maximo application used for printing labels on networked label printers such as Zebra or Intermec printers. End users create the label printing request using the appropriate Maximo application and the Maximo application server sends the print request to the printer. No setup of any kind is required on the end users computer.
User Initiated Data Imports There are many reasons for users to initiate data imports into Maximo. A few examples are
  • Updating Inventory records with vendor information such as catalog codes and bid prices.
  • Importing meter readings such as gasoline consumption from a gas pump application.
  • Importing credit card transactions.
  • Importing Vendor Price Quotes The Maximo PO Price Upload is a custom Maximo utility used to populate regular purchase orders, blanket orders, master purchase orders, and pricing agreement PO's with prices from an Excel spreadsheet.
Screen Modifications Screen modifications make Maximo a much easier to use tool. Five simple modifications are listed in the linked document.
Scheduled Jobs Scheduled jobs (cron tasks) are a valuable addition to Maximo. A few examples we have implemented are
  • Closing work orders with status COMPLETE, no active purchases, and no changes in the last 6 months.
  • Closing purchase orders with receipts complete, are fully invoiced, and no changes in the last 6 months.
  • Importing labor transactions generated from external time keeping systems.
